Board of Directors

Abdullah Sharafi
Abdullah Sharafi is President of Gerab National Enterprises LLC. He has vast banking and entrepreneurial experience and a solid knowledge base of monetary and applied economics.

Mr. Sharafi’s distinguished career started at the Emirates Industrial Bank, where he worked and led various departments for over 21 years. Presently he Chairs the Board of Directors at Acacia Investments BSC in Bahrain, and is a Board Director at Dubai International Capital LLC, Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, and Takaful Re Limited.

Arif Al Harmi
Vice Chairman
Arif Al Harmi is the Managing Director of Amlak Finance PJSC, a leading Islamic mortgage finance provider in the UAE, a position he has held since May 2007.

In addition, he is the Chairman of Emaar Industries & Investments, Chairman of Amlak Finance & Real Estate Investment in Egypt, and Board Member of Al Salam Bank in Algeria.

Arif has a wealth of knowledge and experience gathered from over 20 years in leadership roles at leading regional and international financial institutions, including HSBC, ABN AMRO and Dubai Islamic Bank.

He is a well-known industry spokesperson at a number of key platforms across the MENA region, including Cityscape Dubai and IFC Dunya Conference in Turkey.

Dr Amina Al Rustamani
Dr. Amina Al Rustamani is Group Chief Executive Officer of TECOM Group, a member of Dubai Holding, and strategic business enabler that contributes to the realisation of Dubai’s economic aspirations through the creation of 11 business communities across 7 vibrant industry sector-focused business communities dedicated to information technology, design, media, education, sciences, wholesale and manufacturing.

Since 2013, she has overseen the company’s innovation strategy, in line with Dubai’s vision to transform the Emirate into an innovation-led economy, and led TECOM Group’s efforts to play a major role in the UAE National Agenda to achieve Vision 2021 which focuses on economic diversification, competitiveness and entrepreneurship, as well as innovation and smart services.

Dr. Amina has championed the development of Dubai Design District (d3), a pioneering, purpose built creative destination for the Middle East’s growing design industry, and the launch of Dubai Wholesales City to enable Dubai to become global hub for wholesale trade.

Dr. Amina is Chairperson of the Dubai Design and Fashion Council. She is also a Board member of the National Media Council, Dubai Media Incorporated, Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA) and Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower).

Huda Buhumaid
Huda Buhumaid is Senior Vice President, Group Communications at Dubai Holding, a global investment company, where she manages Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Marketing and Internal Communications. Prior to joining Dubai Holding, Huda was Managing Director – Marketing & Communications, Dubai Group, a member of Dubai Holding.

She has also previously worked with Citibank, quickly moving up the ranks from Marketing Manager – Credit Cards to Assistant Vice President – Marketing and Business Development.

Stefan Leser

Stefan Leser joined the Jumeirah Group as Group Chief Executive Officer in February 2016. During his time with the company, he has overseen a number of important milestones. These include the launch of The Terrace at Burj Al Arab Jumeirah and the opening of Jumeirah Al Naseem, a 430 luxury room hotel in Dubai, which completes the award winning Madinat Jumeirah Resort.

Stefan continues to drive Jumeirah’s commitment to attracting top talent. He has visited international hospitality schools to share Jumeirah insights and meet students as well as support Jumeirah’s National Graduate Programme, which develops the Emirati leaders of tomorrow.

As Jumeirah Group CEO, Stefan has put operating excellence and efficiency at the centre of focus, implementing organisational changes and driving growth.

Prior to joining Jumeirah, Stefan worked with Swiss travel services provider, Kuoni Travel Holding, where he held executive management positions for more than 10 years. As a member of Kuoni’s Executive Board, he was most recently Executive Vice President of its outbound travel businesses, covering the Nordics, UK, Benelux, India, China, Hong Kong as well as the home market, Switzerland. In addition, he was responsible for all businesses specialising in inbound destination management. In this role, he held responsibility for $3 billion of revenues and 8,000 employees.

Earlier roles with Kuoni included Executive Vice President, CEO Division, Emerging Market and Specialist Businesses where he oversaw the growth and development of Kuoni’s global visa outsourcing business, VFS, which today accounts for $300m in annual sales.

Before joining Kuoni, Mr. Leser spent eight years working in IT service companies, with over five years in senior positions with EDS Corporation.

Originally from Bavaria in Germany, Stefan holds a MBA from Augusta University, Georgia in the USA.

Abdullah Al Mansoori
Abdulla Al Mansoori is the Director for Corporate Support at the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO). In this role, he has overall responsibility for managing the Finance, Procurement, IT & Information Security, Legal and Human Capital departments of the organisation.

He brings over 15 years of experience in senior leadership roles including the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), TECOM Investments, now TECOM Group, DuBiotech, now Dubai Science Park and Dubai Media City. Prior to joining GDMO, Al Mansoori was Deputy CFO and Head of Finance Operations of DIFC and the Chief Executive Officer of DIFC Arbitration Centre. He has also served as Chief Operating Officer of RAPID, an innovative payment solutions initiative launched by DIFC.

At DIFC Investments, he was responsible for managing a USD $1 billion portfolio consisting of 10 companies in various sectors including aviation, real estate, financial services, IT distribution, outsourcing and media publishing, apart from serving on the boards of all DIFC companies.

Amer Kazim
Amer has over 19 years’ experience in corporate services, corporate finance, treasury and budgeting. As du’s Chief Financial Officer, Amer is responsible for overseeing all areas of its finance operations, including financial strategy and planning, raising capital and providing both operational and programmatic support to the organisation.

Before joining du, Amer was the Senior Vice President of Group Services at Dubai Airports, where he played a leading role in shaping the long-term business strategy, internal and external governance structures and development of local talent within the organisation.

Earlier in his career, Amer spent eight years with Emirates Airline where he held various positions, the most recent one being the Senior Vice President of Finance.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of Emirates NBD – Egypt bank, Audit Committee Member of Ducab and Audit and Risk Committee Member of Al Ghurair Investment. He has previously served on the Board of Empire Aviation Group and as an Audit Committee member of Dubai Healthcare City and the Economic Zones World.
