Lorenzo Fanara, Ambassador of Italy to the UAE, visited the first-ever ‘La Moda Italiana: Dubai Edition’, an exhibition promoting Italian fashion excellence and an exciting addition to the Dubai Fashion Week (DFW) calendar for the Spring Summer 2025 edition. Organised by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) in collaboration with DFW, Confinudstria Moda and Sistema Moda Italia, the exhibition presents the designs of 25 prestigious Italian fashion brands and is open to all until 5pm today. DFW, co-founded by Dubai Design District (d3) and the Arab Fashion Council, runs all week until 7 September.
Ambassador Fanara was joined on the visit by Mr. Edoardo Napoli, Consul General of Italy in Dubai; Mr. Valerio Soldani, Trade Commissioner of Italy to the UAE; Khadija Al Bastaki, Senior Vice President of d3, part of TECOM Group PJSC; and Mohammed Aqra, CSO of the Arab Fashion Council. They explored the designs on exhibit, across clothing, footwear, leather goods and eyewear, and met with the participating designers present on-ground.
The collaboration between the ITA and DFW highlights the robust cultural and economic ties between Italy and the UAE. According to the Italian embassy in the UAE, Italy’s fashion exports to the UAE reached €838 million in 2023 and are continuously growing. Fashion also represents the most important sector of Italy’s digital exports, amounting to about 66% of online exports of Made in Italy consumer goods. The exhibition strengthens this relationship, bringing new experiences and opportunities for designers, brands and fashion enthusiasts that demonstrate the craftsmanship and heritage of Italian fashion in Dubai. The designers participating include: Maesta; Rallegrati; Pelletteria Veneta; HC Antonella; Giadacurti; Alibi; Boldrini Selleria S.R.L; Christian Villa; Mot-Cle; Loriblu; Giorgio Lentini; Pasotti; Lucrezia Maria Monaca; Ripani; Cristian Marcucci; Rondinella; Valentino Orlandi, Athison; FRP Collection; Clara Aestas; Maria Sapio Knitcouture; Thierry Rabotin; Aru Eyewear; For.me Eyewear; and Hilda Maha. Open to the public for viewing only, ‘La Moda Italiana: Dubai Edition’ is taking place at d3’s Atrium 6. The Spring Summer 2025 edition of Dubai Fashion Week kicked off on Sunday with the opening of the exhibition and runway shows from Rizman Ruzaini, Amjad Khalil, Erick Bendana and Angelo Estera.
